The Verona Fire Department is always seeking new members. Joining the department opens the door to new experiences. Members enjoy a close fraternal tie with unlimited networking as well as a new experience of learning, rarely found in other types of organizations. Although we do not receive a paycheck, the excitement of a child seeing you when bringing an engine to school on Fire Prevention Day, the appreciation of a family who voluntarily baked cookies for the holidays for you and the other firefighters on “Santa Day”, or the family who cannot thank you enough for coming to their aid, cannot be put into a monetary form. Community pride and the feeling of making a difference is why we volunteer.
The requirements for membership are as follows. You must be at least 16 years of age, as well as lived in Verona for at least 6 months. To apply, please do one of the following:

Please State that you meet the requirements and wish to volunteer. The Verona Fire Department will contact you and set up a meeting to discuss the requirements. All new members will receive training by the Verona Fire Department and can go to any state authorized Fire academy at no cost to the member.
